Dream Title: Write and publish a non fiction book

Write and Publish a Book

The first time you see your own work come off the printing press is a remarkable experience. It is a sheer joy plus a satisfying feeling of creating something of lasting value. No wonder so many have this goal on their Before I Die list.

How to write a Book?  Just do it. Do it now.  Education can't stop you, money can't stop you, time can't stop you. Only you can stop you! Don’t talk about it, do it.

Motivation for writing:   To communicate! To help other people, to share some advice, to inspire others, to teach. Have you ever read a book that made you change direction in your life?

It could be fiction or non-fiction.

Things to consider in writing Non-fiction: Think about the three things that you really love doing. What are they? Do you love restaurants? Is travel your thing? Do you love running businesses or starting web sites? Are you passionate about football, baseball, sewing or some other past time?

Things to consider in writing Fiction:  Do you have a story to tell.  Maybe based on a true experience. Think about what challenges have / do you have with life and how have you overcome them? If there was one piece of advice you could give anyone it would be... Remember bad or tough experiences are valid too (in fact they often teach us more about life than good experiences.) Remember to use all five senses when you describe things. Help your reader smell, taste, touch, hear and see everything.

If you want to write -- READ. Especially read the type of book you want to write.  A tip for editing (all authors must do this): read your work a few days later, out loud, to really catch mistakes. Join a critique group and get a tough skin.
